Alanna Eakin
Alanna's current work is often inspired by a combination of kitsch, cute or tacky objects collaged with flat or realistic floral imagery; paintings that bring out the playful side to her imagination. This kind of inspiration she can find anywhere, mainly internet sources or charity stores.
Alanna's paintings can often have a variety of differentiating painterly dimensions to them, one of which is colourfully abstract. Another she combines three dimensional figuration and flat patterning into the same piece resulting in an eclectic result.
She challenges the material language of painting by combining paint with ink and often the use of stuck on rhinestones, glitter or small objects.
